I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my company “Hooking by the Sea Retreats”. My name is Vicki Graham and I live on beautiful Brier Island with my husband and son. I started rug hooking when a friend introduced me to the traditional art of rug making. Over the years it has evolved into one of a kind hand hooked specialty dyed rugs that have found homes all around the world.
To expand my knowledge and skills I have taken many workshops and advanced courses. I belong to the Fundy Region Hooking Group, I am an associate teacher of the Rug Hooking Guild of NS in the teacher's branch and I am on the Board of Directors for Red Spruce.
Rug hooking has become my passion and I love to share my knowledge with fellow rug hooking friends and colleagues. I have mastered the unique art of dying wools and yarn and I have developed specialized kits that include unique patterns for the beginner to the advanced rug hooker.
Did you ever wonder how rugs were made and think I would like to do that? Many of us are just to busy to sit down or we don’t even know where to start. Here is your chance to try some rug hooking or needle felting and see if you do enjoy the companionship that comes with spending time with fellow rug hookers.
